Empowering Visually Impaired Girls through KAPAAS – A GANTIs Initiative
A personal reflection by GV Prasad, Chief Custodian of KAPAAS
Program Name:
KAPAAS – Flagship Philanthropic Program of GANTIs Powered by: Kanak Parakh Foundation
Brief Overview:
KAPAAS is more than a philanthropic program—it’s a heartfelt mission, one that I’ve had the honor of leading as the Chief Custodian. Launched as the flagship initiative of GANTIs and brought to life through the Kanak Parakh Foundation, KAPAAS was envisioned to support sustainable, inclusive development among underserved communities.
Alongside Shri Rishabh Parakh, the visionary Chief Trustee of the Foundation, we set out to implement projects that would leave a lasting social footprint. One such project, close to my heart, was our collaboration with NFBM’s Jagriti School for Blind Girls in Devachi Alandi, Pune.
About NFBM – Our Partners in Purpose:
Our Contribution through KAPAAS:
Together with my family and the Kanak Parakh Foundation team, we were privileged to extend the following support:
1. Sponsorship for Essential Needs:
We supported 10 visually impaired girls at the Jagriti School by covering their essential yearly needs—academic materials, meals, medical care, and hostel accommodation. This support ensures that their education journey continues with dignity and confidence.
2. Special Meal Sponsorship (Annadan):
In loving memory of my father, and to celebrate my birthday with purpose, I had the joy of sponsoring two full-day meals for all students and staff at the school. Seeing their smiles and feeling their gratitude was a deeply moving experience—one I will always cherish.
Impact Created:
- Enabled uninterrupted education and care for 10 visually impaired girls.
- Nourished and uplifted students through wholesome meals and a caring residential environment.
- Strengthened community awareness and compassion through family-led participation.
With Gratitude:
This initiative would not have been possible without the unwavering support of a few key individuals apart from my family:
National Federation Of The Blind Maharashtra (NFBM)
- Smt. Sakina Bedi, Spokesperson, NFBM
Kanak Parakh Foundation
- Smt. Indu Parakh, Chief Mentor
- Shri. Rishabh Parakh, Chief Trustee
- Shri. Shripad Pandit, Chief Impact Officer
- Shri. Abhay Mankar, Chief Project Coordinator
Final Thoughts:
The journey of KAPAAS continues with many more milestones ahead. But moments like these remind me why we began—to give back, to uplift, and to walk hand-in-hand with those who need us most. I truly believe that small acts of focused giving can lead to transformative change.
Together, through KAPAAS, we are not just donating—we are investing in dreams, dignity, and a better tomorrow.
